I guess everyone is swamped. I am overrun with about 300 bantam chicks of
various ages that I need to put into larger coops. And was gone for a week
(took 50 scouts on a high adventure trip to WVa).
Yes, you can introduce new ones if you do it right. I do it all of the time,
but you have to be careful and sometimes you have to watch to see if they are
getting along. I usually put the new ones in a cage in the big coop for a day or
so (with food and water) and then when the others are out free ranging or just
after they come back in at night, I let the other ones out of their pen into the
larger coop/pen. There might be a bit of establishing the pecking order, but
not much more.
