Just some thoughts... We had 175 at peak when we had BarCampBoston at MIT in 2007. We had the schedule board in the Foyer area just outside of the Auditorium....
At Mashup Camp, I think they tend to try and set an upper limit of 250 people... I think that it should definitely be kept below 500 for logistical purposes....
