The Florida Science Olympiad and NorCal Science Olympiad are
pleased to announce a partnership to host a special Coaches Conference Series
for Science Olympiad Participants across the nation.
Science Olympiad is a competition for middle and high school
students with the goal to improve the quality of science education by engaging
students in hands-on physics, chemistry, earth space science, biology, and
engineering utilizing an inquiry approach to learning. Fully correlated
to the national and state
standards, Science Olympiad is a great way to turn students onto science as schools
prepare for the state assessments in
Two workshops series are available for TEACHERS, PARENTS and
STUDENTS who want to prepare their teams for Science Olympiad and learn more
about what Science Olympiad has to offer:
Coaches Conference – WEST October 5-6, 2007 –
Coaches Conference – EAST October 19-20, 2007 –
For a cost of $125.00 per person, participants will receive
event preparation materials, instruction from top judges, and lots of
information on how to set and organize their teams. All 23 events for
each division will be presented in breakout sessions that will be hands-on and
interactive. A great way to prepare for the 2008 regional, state, and
national competitions!
And, we are still in search of presenters for the
conference. If you are an expert in one of the 23 events, sign up to
present an event and help others as they prepare for Science Olympiad.
All presenters will receive a $25 per session honorarium, plus meals and hotel
for those outside of the conference area.
