Hi Tim -welcome to this informal group!
The site that we use is a park in Cockeysville called Dulaney
Springs. It has pretty good horizons and fair light pollution -
probably about as good as you'll have in suburbia. Here's a link to

The place does technically call for a park permit which I do have a
copy of. Come for as long as you like - one of the advantages of a
site like this is that you can make it back home pretty quickly, so
a work-night outing is not too expensive in lost sleep ;-)
