OK Tim...you guilted me into an introduction! :-)

Hi all.

I recently found your group while doing a Yahoo Groups search for
astronomy in Maryland.

My name is Dave Gede. I live in Reisterstown. I have been involved
in amature astronomy for about 10 years now. I am an active member
of the Westminster Astronomical Society and am currently the owner of
their Yahoo Group (WASI_Astro).

I am primarily interested in visual observing. I currently own 12"
Hardin Dob, an ETX 90, an Apogee 90mm Refractor, a Coranado PST,
several pairs of binocs, and a solar scope (cardboard projection
unit). Most of my observing is either from my driveway or at Bear
Branch Nature Center in Westminster.

I have switched from collecting astro equipment to actually using
it! :-) I have recently compeleted the first couple Astronomical
League observing lists (Lunar and Binoc Messier) and am currently in
the middle of several others (EOSC, Messier, Sun Spotters, and
Universe Sampler).

I am an active member of the Night Sky Network through WAS and try to
do at least one outreach program a month. I am also involved in
public star parties at Soldiers Delight (monthly) and, as time
permits, other club related programs.

I joined your group to see what other astronomers are doing in this
part of the county. For the most part, the folks in the Westminster
club are from Carrol county and tend to do their observing North and
West of Westminster. I know Tim is a member of HAL and I do my best
to keep up with them, but one formal club is plenty for me at the
moment. Seeing that your group was a little less formal and hence a
little less time consuming, got my interest. Especially if you do
your observing a little closer to home!

Hope I did not go on too long. Depending on schedules, I hope to
meet some of you soon.

Regards,
Dave Gede

Sure. All we need are clear skies. Lately, it's been nice during the week. Maybe the weekends will cooperate this year. Bill G On Mon, 09 May 2005 20:35:58...
