Welcome to BeebControl - control technology for Acorn computers
This group is for the discussion of circuits, mechanics, operation, background info and insights about any item of equipment that was designed to be controlled by one of Acorn's BBC Micro or Master models (and later RISC OS systems where relevant). Typical items would include robot arms and robotics, buggies, roamers, turtles, interfaces, scientific sensors, stepper motors, plotters, eprom programmers, CNC machines and control experimentation. The associated Basic or machine code programs are also covered here.
The group takes its name from the BeebControl website at http://www.anf.nildram.co.uk/beebcontrol/
The group can also cover equipment designed for other micros where there's a useful relevance to owners of Acorn 8-bit systems. Similarly, owners of non-Acorn computers or PCs may find information here that they can use when interfacing equipment on other platforms.
More mainstream topics like the internal workings of the Beeb, disc drives, monitors, printers, second processors, ROM/RAM boards, etc are not intended to be covered by this group - they're handled better elsewhere on other discussion lists or the Acorn newsgroups.
