Thanks for the input. That worked. I used the wrong timescale when first trying to view the signal.

Be careful connecting your scope leads, but yes, the LED leads are good points. You should connect the Cathode lead (flat on the side of the LED) to the

IR transmitter
Is there a connection on the IR transmitter board ( LED leads? ) that I can hook a oscillascope on that will show the signal being sent out to the receiver?
