Greetings. I knew nothing about this group before the fellow in
question mentioned it recently in a post to a discussion on a Ohio
newspaper's web page, which seems to have settled down for now.

"Mikey", as he is known in some circles, is a sad character in many
ways. I think tilting at Foes of Fuzziness is his only remaining
Raison d'être. He seems convinced, in his own hysterical dialectic,
that everyone who believes the NCTM vision is faulty does so for
political reasons and that it is up to him to fight the fight that
must be fought for truth, justice and the NCTM way.

Despite his slinging many very ugly words my way over the years, I
can't say he has ever lied. Sadly, I think he actually believes the
crap he flings.

In any case, he and his closest friends have had lots of nom de nets
over the years and even if he seems to be gone, he may not be.
