Description
Welcome to Bhutan-eForest. The aim of this forum is to bring together Bhutanese and friends of Bhutan in particular and in general anyone and everyone interested in the promotion of Forests for Gross National Happiness in Bhutan. Bhutan with much of the forests in pristine conditions offers the best hope for the preservation of the Eastern Himalayan ecosystems, recognised as one of the 10 global biodiversity hotspots in the world. But, Bhutan must also meet the demands by its people for quality life for which the forests have great role to play.
The underlying principle of the Forests for Gross National Happiness is that when science, technological innovation and human imagination are employed, conservation and development mutually reinforce each other. We thus believe that individually we can make a difference, but collectively we can make a bigger difference in the realization of the Forests for Gross National Happiness, thus this forum.
The Forum is owned and moderated by Dr. Phuntsho Namgyel,Once a Forester Always a Forester, Thimphu, Bhutan.

Re: request on plantation
Dear all Along this area, maybe its time to try "habitat restoration" instead of just plain tree plantation and not to think only from a forest production
