I have checked my PocketPC: Nothing at all seems to happen on the
device - I found no traces of a file. I also don't see ActiveSync
trying to transfer a file (BTW, I have ActiveSync 4.1 und WinMobile 5
).
Thanks for your help!

Tbytau,
VisualCE is installed along with BiblioPocket.vce. On PocketPC, there should
be a shortcut created under the Start menu. Please use file manager to
search for the file "BiblioPocket.vce". Double click it to run. Please let
me know the result.
Thanks,
Paul

Subject: biblioscape Bibliopocket installation problem
Hello,
I just tried to install BiblioPocket onto my (new) PDA running Windows
Mobile 5. I got the download archive and executed it, but all that
happens when I execute is that a folder named "C:\Programme\Visual CE"
is created with VISERT.exe, VISESYNC.exe and DeIsL1.isu in it, and
that's it. Nothing more happens.
Is there anything I might have done wrong during the installation?
BTW, I have ActiveSync 4.1 running on my computer.
I would be very grateful for hint!
Best regards
tbytau

Marc,
You need to pick the right output style. If the style is created by
yourself, go to the style editor. Under the tab "Ambiguous Citation", there
is an option to resolve the ambiguity by adding a letter after year. Please
make sure that box is checked.
Thanks,

Subject: biblioscape Citations
Hello All,
Although I have searched for the answer to my problem throughout your
postings I cannot find what may resemble the correct answer.
I am using V6.6 Std ed
I need to cite using eg (Brown et al., 2005)
Brown, M., Smith, J. and Jones, E.(2005) .......
If I have another (Brown et al., 2005).....
BUT different authors
Brown, M., Bassett, F. and Jacobs, N. (2005)
this would still need to be shown within the text as (Brown et al., 2005)
Does anyone know how I can get the software to put in automatically
(Brown et al., 2005a).....(Brown et al., 2005b)
I would like the software to place the a,b,c,d,etc by order of
occurance, within both the text and reference list.
Your help in this is greatly appreciated

Jorge,
I assume you mean BiblioWeb serving files. BiblioWeb can only access folders
under its root for security reasons. So you have to move your folder to a
place under BiblioWeb folder.
Thanks,
Paul

Just thought I should pass on my knowledge to all you guys (and gals) on here. I
know just like heaps of other men I am pretty shy when it comes to going up to
someone. I've tried a few different places (clubs, bars, etc) but never seem to
have too much luck. Anyway, a few weeks ago I joined up to
http://www.livechatrooms.info/flsm and I have to say I am already getting
excited. I was beginning to think I'd end up being alone for ever, but
already been talking to a few interested ladies on there. Anyway, if you're like
me it comes highly recommended!
Good heavens -- I was right? That's a first.
Glad the mystery's solved -- at least, part of it.
Cheers
Hugh

Paul - Yes, I think that's the problem (see my post to Hugh).
Thank you everyone for helping out. I was beginning to think the
gremlins were at work again (well, perhaps they were... :-).

Bingo! I think you've found the problem, Hugh. When I Googled some
8000 sites using my usual ISP (Cox cable) I received exactly the same
message as from the Biblioscape forum.
Just to check futher I unhooked Cox and reverted to my trusty
Compuserve dial-up, which I use as a backup. I got into the forum wirh
no trouble at all, and was able to copy Sergio Morresi's interesting
post on Biblioscape. When I switched back to Cox - Voila, no connection.
Now that I know I can access the forum through CIS, I'll use that
method while I delve into the mysteries of my cable modem/router to
unblock access.
Thanks very much!

Thank you for spotting this. It wasn't the answer to my problem, I
think - see my message to Hugh - but it could very well have been :-).
I am sure it helped some other puzzled users.

Hansdah,
Sorry, we forgot to update the lower link. That's the reason Derek can't get
to the forum. The outdated link is now updated.

Derek -- A thought, which may be worth nothing: I think some ISPs may
block ports other than 80, the default http port. The forum runs on port 8001.
I guess a way of testing this would be to Google ":8001" and try
going to some of the links Google finds. If you don't have any
trouble with that, bang goes my hypothesis :)

Thanks Paul, Hugh and Yohanes:
I guess it must be a problem my end. I get the message: "The
connection has timed out. The server at 207.36.181.237 is taking too
long to respond."
I have tried with Opera, IE6 and FireFox 1.5 - all with no success.
Opera says the remote server is currently unavailable. I'm on Cox
Cable Broadband.
I'll just keep trying :-).

Yohanes,
I guess there is a macro name conflict. The difference between Bib_Word.dot
and Bib_Word_9.dot are minor. After open it, go to "Tools | Macros". Rename
all the macros and save changes.
If you are not familiar with Word macros, you can wait for the next
Biblioscape release. We will rename macros to avoid naming conflict. We will
also have the macros signed.
Thanks,
Paul

Subject: biblioscape 6.6 conflcts with mathtype5.2c in microsoft word 2003
Hi,
This issue had been posted by larry (larryzhou@...
<mailto:larryzhou@...>) on Biblioscape forum at 12/28/2005, 14:31:54
Here is the quotation:
"Hi,
I got trouble when I installed both biblioscape 6.6 and mathtype 5.2c.
Originally, mathtype added a menu in word. But after installing
biblioscape, everytime when I enable the biblioscape macro, word gives a
error message "microsoft office word err=1455 The new menu name cannot
be same as the existing menu name", then the menu of mathtype is gone.
However, if I chose to disable that macro, the menu of mathtype will
still be there.
How can I deal with that? Thanks for your help.
larry "
Then Paul has given the answer at 12/31/2005, 00:31:39 as quoted "You
can open Bib_word.dot file and rename the menu. The file is not protected."
However, I still coldn't figure it out.
My question is,
1. What is the difference between Bib_Word.dot and Bib_Word_9.dot?
2. Regarding Paul reply, so how to open (what software to open it since
it just blank when I opened by Microsoft Word) and which part of menu &
what should be renamed then?
3. How to accept the macro while it is not digitally signed?
4. Is there any modification of this template file available yet so I
just replace the original and skip all the confusing steps?
Thank you!
Kind regards,
Yohanes

The undo command is only for text cut, not for database operation.

It's working for me, too. It's certainly worth trying another browser
if you haven't already; however, I haven't encountered browser
problems in the past, with the possible exception of Opera, but I was
never entirely sure whether that was the browser or temporary
problems with the forum itself.

Is the official biblioscape forum ( at
http://207.36.181.237:8001/bw_forum) down or closed? I keep getting a
message that the connection has timed out. I haven't been able to
reach it since I started trying a few days ago. I know it was working
about 12 months ago...
