Biodiesel Magazine reports D1 Oil is partnering with BP

British biodiesel producer D1 Oils plc has granted BP International Limited the option to acquire over 11.7 million shares as part of a joint venture between the two companies, called D1-BP Fuel Crops Limited. The partnership aims to plant 1 million hectares (2.5 million acres) of the biodiesel feedstock Jatropha curcas over four years. It will have exclusive access to the jatropha seedlings produced through D1’s plant science business. The joint venture will likely be formally incorporated in October, according to D1 spokesman Graham Prince.
