Not with a D2X but Tina Smith (no longer on the BIPP list,
unfortunately) had a similar problem with a Fuji S2. From memory, Fuji
replaced the whole sensor array FOC......Your camera isn't that old and
the shutter actuations seem about normal. I think it's worth having a
word with Nikon to see what they can do.

Also, something else you could try, see if it's up to date with the
firmware, if it isn't doing that could just re-spark it back into life.
