Hello all,
Wondered whether anyone can point me in the direction of a hair and
make-up artist who'd be interested in a tfp shoot (no payment, images
provided for their portfolio). They need to be able to work very
creatively (it's a wacky shoot), and have more ability than the local
college drifters.
Any help is much appreciated!
Lindsey
Hi Ian
Yes Sarah and I are raring to go again!!!!
I'm a member of the BIPP-NW. You're my adopted region ever since the
Centenary dinner. If you remember the story, I decided that your region
seemed to do the most and as very little ever happens down here BIPP-
wise.
It's been fantastic to make friends of you, Phillip, Jaine, Gary,
Sharon & Tina (though I don't think they're active at the moment)etc
and to bounce ideas around and pick each others brains.
So yes, I'm on the list!!!!!!
BTW Ian, do you happen to know when the tickets are being sent out?
Last year it was just a list.
Richard
Hi Richard,
It will be good to see you and your wife again. For those reading this
who haven't yet met you, I applaud you for entering our competition, and
for probably travelling the furthest of anybody for several years to our
Region for our awards dinner. Steve Allen has remained a North West
member after moving to Yorkshire. You live a lot further away than
Steve. Are you a member of our region, or just a visitor?

For sale is a Bowens Equipe 2400 mains powered pack (2400j) with three mini
heads each
capable of taking the full 2400j. The pack can be symmetrical or asymmetric
through two
channels working sleeplessly from 2400 down to 37j. You can switch the pack
between
600/1200/2400 modes to help maintain colour consistency.
Included are three heads. They are the mini travel heads very similar to the
Visatec/Bron
mobil mini heads, they have a built in wide angle reflector but also have the
Bowens S-type
bayonet adaptor installed so you can use them with standard Bowens dishes and
boxes. Each
head can take 2400j and a 300w modelling bulb, they are fan cooled.
The heads have detachable cables for better transport and are each 5m in length.
There is
also one 5m head extension cable to make a 10m run on one head.
Also included are two hard to come by Quad head adaptors so Bowens Quad heads
can be
used with the Equipe pack.
Price £1200
(there is a forth head but with no flash tube or cable)
Cheers, Jonathan Beer

Hi Ian how's tricks!!
Great idea this forum and a good substitute for the one now missing
from the main site.
It's getting near that time of year and once again we will be winging
our way northward.
Wouldn't have it any other way.

Good morning John
Congratulations on your purchase
I use D200s and would like to hear how you get on with the D3. On
paper, it sounds ideal for weddings partcularly the almost noiseless
sensitivity, which will be great for church interiors.
Hi All,
I have purchased a D3 and intend to capture weddings with it. Until
today I have used F5s to do this. I am conversant with photoshop as I
used a Fuji S3 in the Studio.
I am looking to work with someone for a couple of days who can teach me
the way forward.
Any brave enough?
Thanks
John

Hang on... getting my soap box out...
Standards are slipping, but I believe because it's much cheaper to get into
different areas of
photography now. Photographers are 'having a go' at all sorts because digital
has taken alot
of the risk away.
A particular photographer wont be any worse with digital provided the equipment
meets
their needs. But if that photographer ventures into other disciplines with a
perceived digital safety net then standards will slip big time.
Its no coincidence in my opinion that the best photographers tend to be
specialists.
They initial judging will only have been concluded on Wed/Thur, over
in Lanzarotie at the PTO event, as it was the only chance to have the
judges together in one place.
Ray flew back yesterday and flew straight out again and won't be back
til Sunday, he may be sorting through the final images as we speak,
so you may hear sooner, but don't hold your breath, i'm sure he's
working as fast a she can.

maybe less than a
week to print them.
I use Capture One... I think its great for white/silver things
Stage one only!
By the way as ur a mac buddy, have you tried this free raw converter,
'Raw Photo Processor' . Very bad workflow, however the results are
the best i've seen so far (only played with it this morning). Might
be worth using if ur not in a rush.
