Kaixo !!

¿Es algún bug de BItakora? Existe algún modo de pedir al usuario que
tenga que meter unas carateres para que el mensaje sea aceptado
(evitando así que sea una máquina la que se conecte y empiece a mandar
spam masivo)??

Let's try copying community's gettext into the blog and deleting the
languages we don't want in it.

If it still doesn't work, we'll have to create a Localizer script to
force selecting your language.

Mikel

I've just done this, and it doesn't work. 8(

Also I tried to copy the main community Localizer
object to the specific blog, delete the "other"
languages and save.

Also, no try. Didn't work.

Any suggestions? Permissions? Any
displaced/mispaced/nonexistent gettext() method ?

Thanks a lot

If you create a BitakoraCommunity and then some blogs inside it, you'll
have just 1 Localizer object (at the root of BitakoraCommunity) so the
Language setting will affect the entire site.

If you want to restrict one blog to be just in one language, you should
add a Localizer object inside it and add there tha language.

Hi!

First of all, congratulations about Bitakora. It's a nearly perfect
Blog Community System (You know, so few things are absolutely perfect ;) )

But I have a question: At http://www.codesyntax.com/bitakora (the
community main page) you get all the post in all the languages,
despite the language you've chosen. So, if the page is showed in
Spanish (for example) and you click over one post in Euskera, the page
switches to the blog and the language overrides automatically to Euskera.

In my "by-the-moment-shoddy-and-desastrous" development(*), I don't
get this behaviour. It seems that the language override keeps the
general option (the language select at community main page). For
example, if the community page is showed in Spanish, I click over one
post in Euskera and the post (the content) is showed in Euskera, but
the rest of the page keeps the Spanish words.

Any idea? What should I do?

Greetings

Can you tell me the version of Bitakora? (look at file version.txt in
Bitakora folder).

Can you also send me the contents of tag script in an attached file (in
private, this list doesn't allow attachments).

http://your-bitakora-url/tag/manage_main

You'll be prompted for user and password, use your Zope user with
manager permission.

Although it's not documented, some 'slots' in the right column are
reserved for things like you want to do.

The right menu is rendered by file-system localmenu.dtml file:

<dtml-var about missing="">  EXISTS

<dtml-var archives missing=""> NOT EXISTS

<dtml-var user_links missing=""> EXISTS

<dtml-var show_sidebar_html missing=""> EXISTS

<dtml-var calendar missing=""> NOT EXISTS

<dtml-var categories_sidebar missing=""> NOT EXISTS

<dtml-var recent_comments missing=""> EXISTS

<dtml-var recent_references missing=""> EXISTS

<dtml-var recent_entries missing=""> NOT EXISTS

<dtml-var recent_trackbacks missing=""> NOT EXISTS

<dtml-var searchform missing=""> NOT EXISTS

<dtml-var contents missing=""> USED

So, you can create a DTML method or something that renders what you want
inside your Bitakora instance, and name it with one of those unused names.

That's the way, for example, all blogs at http://www.atxukale.com/blogak
have a common image in that column.

Good afternoon!
I'm just making some test with the Bitakora product
(www.itxaspe.com/BlogsDeportes and if you take a look at it, if I
select Es-ES language, it still goes in Basque..

Do I have to do anything special with the spanish language (basque and
english works perfectly)..

Thanks in advance for all, and good job!!

OK. When you installed Zope in your machine (is it a Debian one?),
didn't it ask you for a username and password?

Use the username and password you use to post in Bitakora to enter there.

No, it's just to install an smtp server. Perhaps is something as

$ apt-get install exim

But I don't know whether exim needs to be configured later...

Please be patient with me, my technical ability is very limited!.
Having copied and pasted the above link into my browser, a box appears
asking for my Zope username and password. I've not downloaded Zope,
and as I have no programming experience it seems very daunting.

Similar problem here. Should I be using my own hosting (I've never
done this before) or would downloading Zope solve this problem? I
don't want to be wasting your time here, on one hand I'd like to
understand how these things work and fancy using Bitakora instead of

There seems to be something wrong in the 'tag' script. Can you enter
to http://asterix.ines.org:9673/blogs/comunidad/cg/manage_main edit
the 'tag' script and paste its content here please?

Uh...., yes it's Epoz's problem, it's possible to ask for a given
language to Epoz icons alt text. It's our bug.

Yes, Bitakora sends automatically email alerts, but there must be a
MailHost in the Zope path configured correctly. If you enter to:

http://asterix.ines.org:9673/blogs/comunidad/cg/MailHost/manage_main
there is a configuration sheet for a SMTP server. It's configured to
localhost and port 25, what means that there must be a SMTP server
running in the server (for example exim, qmail or sendmail).

I'm not sure if the English version of Bitakora is finished yet, but
I've opened an account and made a few posts (but in Welsh not English
to confuse matters): (http://asterix.ines.org:9673/blogs/comunidad/cg/)
I like the way it's so easy to set up a new blog and the tagging
system appeals a lot to me.

I'm having a few problems (possible bugs/possibly just me)

TAGS: when i click on individual tags below posts, and the tags button
in the right colums i get an error message
"Error Type: RuntimeError
Error Value: Script (Python) tag has errors."
When I view the blog in the blog community
(http://asterix.ines.org:9673/blogs/comunidad) the tags work fine.

IMAGES and LINKS: I've managed to add these using HTML but didn't
manage it in WYSIWIG. Also when in HTML, I'd select Preview, and then
Edit but it would never save changes, so I had to select Edit and not
Preview when posting.

When editing with the WISIWIG the alt text for the buttons appears in
Spanish (I think)

COMMENTS: With Blogger I recieve an e-mail when someone leaves a
comment, is this going to be available with Bitakora?

CONTACT: I've sent 2 to myself but none have appeared in my e-mail in-box

We have a spanish blog community at http://www.javierortiz.net it's not,
strictly speaking, an open community because you cannot add a Bitakora
like in www.blogak.com, but it has totally 9 Bitakora instances (in 2
Bitakora Communities http://www.javierortzi.net/jor and
http://www.javierortiz.net/voz). This Zope instance has an uptime of 67
days right now, and serves 9000 pages/day (according Webalizer).

We have another Blog community (a closed one) with 3 blogs at
http://www.eke.org/blogak in basque and french.

Regards,

For various reasons it is time for my Squishdot blog to move to a new
platform.

I am intrigued by Bitakora but would like to see examples of it being
actively used. The only active Bitakora blog I found was Blogak.com.

Unfortunately I cannot get a good feel for how Blogak.com is using
Bitakora features because it is in Euskara/Basque, which to people in
America is as strange a language as Chinese.

Are there any active Bitakora blogs in English or Spanish? I would be
particularly interested in Bitakora blogs that use the community
feature which can permit users to create their own sub-blogs.

Islam, Kurds, Human rights, Respect, Money, Donations, Angelina Jolie,

you care about these words.

Hi there,

I am SAM, an Iraqi refugee living in Lebanon at the moment; I have spent the
last 10 years of my life as a refugee registered with the UNHCR in Beirut. The
last 4 years, I have spent as an activist for peace and human rights (especially
refugees and asylum seekers) on the Internet; I'm also books author and ebooks
publisher. I have launched many campaigns to improve our situation as refugees
in Lebanon and hopefully bring more understanding to our problems worldwide. I
helped make many changes and improvements at the UNHCR office in Beirut; I used
the Internet as the field for my activities (you can read more about that in my
free ebook 'MY CAMPAIGNS'). All my ebooks are free and could be download from my
sites.

This is my newest campaign, it's about the illegal and humiliating actions of
the UNHCR, who using photos of refugees as banners and human-buttons to collect
money. This is an abuse of the dignity and humanity of the refugees and must
stop immediately and a clear public apology present by The United Nations High
Commissioner for Refugees. My friends, I am talking about the pictures you can
see here: http://www.gameroom.com/un4

Also you can read my new campaign 'Urgent, we need smile' here:

For more info about UNHCR and life of refugees you can read my free ebooks. I
invite you as fellow humans and members of the world community to support my
campaign by reading my article on my site and see the human-buttons. The
campaign is to support and improve the UNHCR http://www.unhcr.org especially
after the last scandals in the UN and UNHCR, just for example:

It's just to 'Save' the 'tag' script?

We haven't seen this problem in our Bitakora instances...

Is there any message regarding Bitakora or Python Scripts in your
instance's event.log file?

hi all,

i noticed this in my test-installation of bitakora:

creating a new blog, the "tag"-links give a script( tag ) error from python.
in fact, if i look at the tag script in manage_main it says
"syntax-error at line 2" (i.e. REQUEST = context.REQUEST )
now:
saving it (without changing anything) , the error disappears.

this has to be done once for every new blog.

what is the reason ?

anton

By now. 0.1.7

I followed your instructions and changed 'entry_body_community' to:

<div class="entry">
      <h2><a href="<dtml-var blogurl>"><dtml-var blog_title></a></h2>
      <img src="<dtml-var getImageUrl>" title="<dtml-var blog_title>"
alt="<dtml-var blog_title>" />
      <p class="data"><dtml-var showDate></p>
      <h3><a href="<dtml-var absolute_url>"><dtml-var showTitle></a></h3>
      <p><dtml-var "cleanHTML(html=showBody())" size="200"></p>
</div>

and have this error on the blog community page:

Hi all:

We have released a new version of Bitakora, Bitakora-0.1.7 with some
bugfixes over the last version. You can download it from
http://www.codesyntax.com/bitakora

We include a Polish po file with the tarball, contributed by Karol
Palys: http://www.eibar.org/blogak/luistxo/en/501

If you are using previous versions, please upgrade your instance,
specially the feed.xml file if you want to avoid your email to be shown
in the XML feed.

There is another minor bugfix regarding blog image.

Regards,

Mikel

UPGRADE NOTES
==============

1. Bitakora: Avoid to show email in XML feeds: Open feed.xml in your
blog /manage_main and change::
       <author><dtml-var showAuthor html_quote> - <dtml-var
contact_mail></author>
    with::
       <dc:creator><dtml-var showAuthor html_quote></dc:creator>

2. BitakoraCommunity: Fix blog image issue changing in
'entry_body_community" DTMLMethod, and put::
      <img src="<dtml-var getImageUrl>" title="<dtml-var blog_title>"
alt="<dtml-var blog_title>" />
    instead of ::
      <img src="<dtml-var imageUrl>" title="<dtml-var blog_title>"
alt="<dtml-var blog_title>" />

I think this is a bug we corrected in a later version. Which version are
you using?

Download the latest one from http://www.codesyntax.com/bitakora

Go to your BitakoraCommunity, enter to /manage_main and edit
'entry_body_community' DTMLMethod. You'll see a line like this:

<img src="<dtml-var imageUrl>" title="<dtml-var blog_title>"
alt="<dtml-var blog_title>" />

Change it and put this one (the change is to put getImageUrl instead of
imageUrl):

<img src="<dtml-var getImageUrl>" title="<dtml-var blog_title>"
alt="<dtml-var blog_title>" />

Thank you,

Mikel

hi,

we are using bitakora here for an community wireless project, so we have an
'internal' server with local ip adresses [1].
additionally this server is reachable by dyndns. problem is, that all images

are linked with absolute paths to the local ip adress, which does surely
not work for a nat'ed machine. therefor all images on the blogs (at least
those
in the sidebar, and in the community overview) cannot be loaded, because the

remote host cannot solve local ip addresses.
so it would be very useful to change the image paths to relative paths.
how and where can i set this?

regards,
phaidros.

Hola amigos, tengo problemas cuando intento poner como text/xml en
Content-Type, originalmente estaba como text/html, el codigo original es:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<urlset xmlns="http://www.google.com/schemas/sitemap/0.84">
  <div
   tal:define="resultados
python:container.Catalog.searchResults(meta_type='Post',
sort_on='date', sort_order='reverse', published=1)"
   tal:omit-tag="">
    <div tal:repeat="item resultados" tal:omit-tag="">
     <url>
      <loc><div tal:replace="python:item.getObject().blogurl()"
tal:omit-tag=""/>/<div tal:replace="python:item.getObject().getId()"
tal:omit-tag=""/></loc>
     </url>
    </div>
  </div>
</urlset>

y me da este error:

Compilation failed
xml.parsers.expat.ExpatError: unbound prefix: line 3, column 1

Por el momento lo solucione agregando "<metal:block tal:define="dummy
python:request.RESPONSE.setHeader('Content-Type', 'text/xml')"/>" y
poniendolo como Content-Type:text/html

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<metal:block tal:define="dummy
python:request.RESPONSE.setHeader('Content-Type',
'text/xml')"/>
<urlset xmlns="http://www.google.com/schemas/sitemap/0.84">
  <div
   tal:define="resultados

sort_on='date', sort_order='reverse', published=1)"
   tal:omit-tag="">
    <div tal:repeat="item resultados" tal:omit-tag="">
     <url>
      <loc><div tal:replace="python:item.getObject().blogurl()"
tal:omit-tag=""/>/<div tal:replace="python:item.getObject().getId()"
tal:omit-tag=""/></loc>
     </url>

Alguien me puede explicar un poco más? algun comentario?
