Re: [books_users] Z39.50 servers

Most of the Books Quickfill plugins use Z39.50 to retrieve book details. Take a look at some of the plugins at

Pretty much all of those are Z39.50-based.

If you have a particular library server that you'd like supported, send us the relevant details and we'll see what can be done. Personally, I'm looking forward to supporting some Asian Z39.50 servers.

As for the other site, if it doesn't offer an API that we can use to search their catalog, we won't be making a plugin for it. We keep busy enough dealing with Amazon's changes to their API and I personally don't have the time and interest to maintain a screenscraping plugin for a website that could change whenever.

Hi,

1) I'd like to use Z39.50 servers to search books information but I
can't find how to do this.

2) It would so great if developers of Books could write a plugin that
allow using http://www.books.com.tw to search books information. I
can't do much about the coding but I can help about mandarin.
