i was using a adapter with 0-16V 350mA rating to power mega8 & GLCD.in between i
used 7805 to make the voltage 5v.it was working fine.but when i connected max232
in the board ,Glcd keeps on reseting itself.

i think its the adapter ,should i use a 0-12 v 500mA adapter.
Help me please.

Thanking u all

i bought it from Bangladesh,it cost me 850tk (bangladeshi taka).its made in
japan as written on it.controller is Ks0108 .resolution 128x64. QY-12864BG is
written on the back of the GLCD.
Ok then i should use 500mA adapter.

Thanks .

I have made usbasp but not for boot loading but as a usb programmer and it is working fine. Regarding crystal position, I have not heard any problem regarding this but for sake i placed it on the nearest position to the atmega8. Keep trying it...I know it works...

set the fuse bits to low 0xFF and high 0xC9

for ponyprog
program the bits
SPIEN ,CKOPT,BOOT SZ1 and Boot SZ0

these are tried and tested for atmega 8 and 16 and 32 set these and forget!!
enjoy

hi!
there must be a company's name with product id embedded on the sensor
somewhere.try searching that on the company's website.u wud surely get a
datasheet of the product you have since every manufacturer provides it on its
website. c if this helps.

Do you have a typename or partnumber of that device?
Normally they use resistive elements arranged in Wheatstone bridge.
                        VCC
            I                                I
        R1+                            R2-
            I                                I
output1                            output2
            I                                I
        R3-                              R4+
            I                                I
                        gnd

The resistors with a + increase the resistance under stress
the resistors with a minus decrease the resistance
if there is no stress output 1 and output2 have the same voltage level
If stress is applied the voltage at output1 is getting lower and the output voltage2 is getting higher.

The voltage change effect at the loadcell is normally only small as you are not allowed to send too mucxh current through the resistors.
(that would cause heat and ageing of the resistors and in accuraties.) So you will need an operational amplifier to bring the voltage into a level which you can apply to an A/D converter.
If you need added help in this issue I can send you a prestage design I made for a 4000KG Crane scale.
Be careful he voltages are relative small, the opamp gain is high, setup wirering provides a good antenna system  and yuo might have excellent unstable signals due to your mobile laying close to your work...
Good night
Ulrich

If the Ks0108 does not support unicode natively, the short answer is yes, you
could program it with your characters.

As far as I know, all display controllers feature at least 8 memory locations in
their memory map, which one can use to store their custom characters. You can
specify the pixels that light up. I haven't eard of any lcd that supports more
that 8 such locations.

My best guess is that you should search for a lcd with a display controller
which supports unicode.

Me.

Some know-how sharing:

You can write the '?' character by defining the actual pixels in a vector, where
X is a pixel that lights up(1 logic) and _ is a pixel that is not lit up (0
level).
#define ________ 0b00000000
#define _XXXXX__ 0b01111100
....

const unsigned char acGUI_Font40x11_0505_003F[ 55] = {

Hello,
          I am trying to make a ADC using Atmega32, it is using internal refrence voltage 2.56 V but if I am connecting a input with 1.5 V  it is showing that the input volt is 2.56 V (or 1023). I am adding the code here.

#include <avr/io.h>
#include <avr/interrupt.h>

// LEDBAR A=0  B=1 CD=3 E=5 FG=7 H=6 I=4 J=2

 uint8_t readADC()

 ch = 0b00000111;
 ADMUX |= ch;
 //Start single conversion
 ADCSRA |= (1<<ADSC);
  //Read converted valu from ADCH
 ADC = ADCH;

  return(ADC);
  }

void initADC()
  {
    //Refrence voltage internal 2.56 V,Result left adjsent
    ADMUX = ((1<<REFS0) | (1<<REFS1) | (1<<ADLAR));
 //Enable ADC and prescelar 128

  }
void full(){PORTD = 0xFF;}

      readADC(0); //Read & Convert A to D
        if (ADC > 1020) full();

One point,

You are returning a byte value from the adc read routine yet comparing it with
values that cannot be stored in a byte value, i.e. max byte value is 255 !! you
need to return the full word value if your comparisons are above 255. You are
not waiting until the conversion is finished either by interrupt or polling the
adc finished bit, so you will get "funny" results.

I'm working on a project that is using ADC with ATMega16.

I can send you a code if you want.

Pozdrav od Jokse!

One point,

You are returning a byte value from the adc read routine yet comparing it with values that cannot be stored in a byte value, i.e. max byte value is 255 !! you need to return the full word value if your comparisons are above 255. You are not waiting until the conversion is finished either by interrupt or polling the adc finished bit, so you will get "funny" results.

Hello,
Stefan is right (as always :)) )

See http://www.mihaigalos.ro/work/Embedded/Advanced/temp2lcd/Code.html

for a sample of how to use the ADC. I use bitshifting for the problem that he
identified.

Mihai

Hi there! I ve programmed 2 atmega8515 for my toy car project..one on the remote
control and the other on the car..Now i want to transfer the programs on ATMEGA8
or ATMEGA16..The problem is that the UDR from the usart is no more recognising
the characters sent..For example, for going forward, i send the character 'I'
and atmega16 instead of "I" sees an ASCII character or something...8515 sees the
"I" with no problem..Please tell me how should i modifiy my program so that all
things go well...Thank you!

It seems like a classic case of "code porting without consulting the datasheet"
:))

See the initialisation for the USART. To be more precise, see the value you put
in the UBRR Bitrate register ;)

Kind regards,
Mihai

Hi dears :)

Dears, I am using ATmega16 microcontroller and I need help for about it. I have
interfaced a sensor to portA0 and using ADC which is built in it i have
digitized its output then showing the output on LCD.

So i need a code for HEX to ASCII conversion for AVRs. Can any one help me
plzzzzz.

Thanks in Advance.

This might do it,

#define U16_NIBBLE(val) ((uint_8)((val >> 12) & 0x0F))

/*!
    \note  Hex_Ascii.
    \note Convert unsigned int value into ascii string.
    \param unsigned int hex value.
    \param Char pointer to data.
*/
void Hex_Ascii(uint_16 Hex_Val, char * Data)
{
      uint_8 Cnt = 0;
      uint_8 Temp = 0x00;

      *Data++ = '0';
      *Data++ = 'x';

      for(Cnt = 0; Cnt < 4; Cnt++)
      {
              /*! <!-- This gives us a 4 bit hex value. --> */
              Temp = U16_NIBBLE(Hex_Val);
              if(Temp < 0x0A)
              {
                 /*! <!-- This value = 0 - 9 , add 0x30 to give us a acsii
number. --> */
                 *Data++ = (Temp + 0x30);
              }
              else
              {
                  /*! <!-- This value = A - F , add 0x37 (i.e 0x37 + 0x0A = 0x41
= 'A') to give us a acsii letter(capital). --> */
                  *Data++ = (Temp + 0x37);
              }
              /*! <!-- Shift the value up. --> */
              Hex_Val << 4;
      }

      /*! <!-- Terminate the string. --> */
      *Data++ = '\0'
      return;
}
