I did pass Hoyt, though the exam had been totally rewritten since the books were published so the sample tests actually turned out to be of minimal use in this case.  Fortunately the new “simulations” in the test were very straight forward and I actually did quite well on them.  I think that is why I was able to pass the exam.

 

I will try to come early Monday and we can talk about it before the meeting if folks want.

I just took the 70-431 exam and I am planning to come by on Monday and talk about my experience with the book the group had talked about using, the three exams in one book.  I definitely have some thoughts on that book versus the MS Press book as I had, and attempted to use, both books.

The book is too new to have any reliable reviews yet.  I found the first to reviews to be highly suspect given that they said:

"... I read the book for exam 70-528 first, which is for ASP.NET 2.0. It is nicely written"

".. books published by Microsoft press is always fantastic."

The vouchers Abe had expired yesterday, and I could probably use another one in the next 2 or 3 weeks or so.

 

The training kit books I have come with a 15% discount voucher, but I would hope I could do a bit better than that.
