I never heard of it being other than popet toys. Are you sure? It was always like "I couldn't find any popets, but I used some small diameter drain tube...
We kind of figured this out a few years back. I think Jack knows more of the details on it. However, popet thingy's don't actually fit the 1/2 diameter...
I found some square styrene tubes for about $2, but they weren't branded as Plastruct, so I thought I'd make sure it mattered. The 1/4" inch ones are the way...
