Dear Colleagues:
As noted on our website (http://www.washacadsci.org), we planned to run a
shuttle between WAS headquarters and the banquet facilities at Meadowlark
Botanical Gardens if 25 people signed up for the bus. If we don't receive a
few more sign-ups by close of business today, we will have to cancel the
transportation. So -- if you plan to take to bus to the banquet, please let
us know ASAP. (Details are below).
TO RIDE THE BUS: Contact Emanuela Appetiti at eappetiti@... no
later than April 7 for reservations. Meet in Room 207 on the second floor
of the AAAS building, 1200 New York Avenue at 4:30 for some wine and cheese
to sustain you on the voyage. There will be a $15 charge for
the roundtrip (including the sustenance), payable when boarding.
FOR BANQUET RESERVATIONS: Send your check for $46.00, made out to the
Washington Academy of Sciences, to Treasurer Frank Haig, SJ, Loyola College,
4501 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21210. In order to ensure a
place, your reservation must be made by May 6. If you have
questions, please contact Emanuela by email (above) or by telephone at (O)
202-633-0967 or (H) 202-518-8085
However you get there, though, I'm looking forward to seeing you at
Meadowlark on May 10th.
Peg Kay President,
Washington Academy of Sciences
