Business Practices Discussion
(bp_disc) is a specialized mailing list for the discussion of
business practices in the translation / interpreting industry

General guidelines include (but are not restricted to) the following:

1) Lurk before you leap
3) Resist "me too's"
3) Ask useful questions
4) Avoid spamming
5) Quote only the relevant part of the message you are answering to
6) Respond to individuals unless you mean to respond to the group
7) Avoid all caps unless you mean to YELL!
8) Use emoticons to convey tone
9) Ignore flame wars, or take them off-list
10) Focus on discussing issues, not people
11) Refrain from sending virus warnings, chain letters, or referral bonus program messages.

Most so-called "netiquette" is common sense and consideration towards others. Everybody benefits when we keep this is in mind.
