G’day & Welcome to the Australian Native Bushfoods discussion group.

Here you will find a diverse & very interesting online community of people from an wide range of backgrounds living throughout Australia & the world discussing anything to do with Australian native fruits, nuts, seeds, leaves, tubers, roots, plants, species, animals, insects & their cultural, aesthetic, intrinsic, domestic & commercial applications!

The purpose of this group is to help with the education and communication of information about the (albeit secretive) native foods industry. It is also hoped to function as medium between interested people and those who may have specific knowledge about a species, its natural habit or use. It is hoped that the list can also contribute towards Reconciliation in its own unique way and that people from all cultures will be encouraged to enjoy the endless variety of experiences offered by Australian native foods & importantly the people who are involved with them.

Please feel free to join our community and participate in the discussions or start a new one by posing a clear and well thought out question to the group. Please feel free to offer services, capability information & produce/prices through the list although I ask for any transaction specifics to be taken off the list once direct contact has been established (i.e. email each other directly rather than through the list or use your phone)

In joining I ask you to be accepting of other members’ views and perspectives. Please refrain from ‘flaming’ other people and from personal attacks, this is not the place for you to air personal gripes. Please also do not go on about spelling mistakes or abbreviations but please do explain acronyms used which other people may not be familiar with.
