Appreciation Day
Windows Project
BWORKS is going to have an appreciation day on Sat. June 17, 2006 at
1:00pm for the people who were involved in the Historical Renovation
of the BicycleWORKS and ByteWORKS store fronts. This renovation has
provided us with better visibility and greatly improved the
appearance of our shop and the neighborhood. It has strengthened our
commitment to providing bikes and computers to the children by
providing a safer and more conducive atmosphere in which to operate
our training programs.
HONOREES
1. Stephen Conway, Alderman: As a result of his vision for the
neighborhood, Steve secured a $15,000 grant to renovate the property.
2. Michelle Maples, Supervisor, Commercial Dist. Program: Michell
planned and acted as liaison with the Cultural Resources Board to
assure our Historical perspective
3. Saul Dien, Architect: The design of the frontage was provided pro-
bono by Saul.
4. John Williams, Board Member: As President of the Board, he planned
and supervised the Project.
5. Susan Turk, Board Member: Susan was responsible for initiating the
concept of the project and contacting the various parties concerned.
She bird-dogged it from beginning to end and never gave up.
6. John Zubcic, General Contractor: John did an excellent job, which
shows his professional skills. Thanks for all the little favors.
7. Jennifer Gerstner, President of SNIA: Thanks for your role in
awarding the Helping Hands Grant for $3,575. This is to remodel the
Teaching Labs
You are invited to hear the presentations, tour the facility, and
enjoy refreshments.
Sincerely yours,
Kenneth E. Walter, MD
