This weekly (if I can get back to that) listing will focus on the content of upcoming episodes. That should make this a bit lighter and more focused.

I haven't been actually assessing the shows in any way for a long time, but I did want to say that I thought the new season episode of X CREATURES which included the thylacine and big cats in England was pretty good. It wasn't science, certainly, but it wasn't outrageous either. On the other hand, the MYSTERIES OF THE UNEXPLAINED that followed it had a segment on Nessie that showed what appeared to be either a lack of research or a prejudice in the presentation. In a recreation of Dr. Wilson developing the famous "surgeon's photograph" of the Loch Ness Monster, the picture he develops is the widely-seen =cropped= version. This lends undue support to the theory being presented that it was hoaxed, since this reduced version doesn't allow the perspective of the original photograph.
