BdOSN is organizing a programme titled "Software Freedom and Open Content" to mark the celebration of release of language movement photos and few books as free and open content through Wikipedia and Wikisource. Prominent Language Movement activists Professor Dr Rafiqul Islam released
all his Language Movement photos to Wikipedia for all.

He handed over those pictures to BdOSN and the Bangla_Wiki volunteers have uploaded all of the pictures to Wikimedia Commons. Prominent Writer and educationalist M Zafar Iqbal also wishes to release some of his books to Internet as open content. In the above-mentioned programme, this will happen officially. Both Dr. Rafiqul Islam's pictures and M Zafar Iqbal's book will be released. BdOSN will also mark the jubilation with distribution of recently released free and open source software, booklet etc. Other prominent writers, educationalists, ICT professionals and our beloved Freedom Fighters will also attend the programme.

The programme will be held at the Cafe of Liberation War Museum in Segun Bagicha, Dhaka on 12th, May 2008, Monday. The programme will start at 5.30 pm.
