Shape the Strategic Priorities of Digital Bangladesh: Join the Global
Online Consultation at Bytesforall Readers Forum
(http://www.yahoogroups.com/group/bytesforall_readers)

# What and Why?
-----------------------

'Access to Information' (A2I) program
(http://www.pmo.gov.bd/a2i/index.php) supported by UNDP Bangladesh and
hosted at Prime Minister's Office in Bangladesh is organizing a global
online consultation on shaping 'Strategic Priorities of Digital
Bangladesh' at Bytesforall Readers Forum
(http://www.yahoogroups.com/group/bytesforall_readers).

This is collaboration between Bytesforall and A2I to bring in global
inputs to the draft strategy document that A2I has prepared and to
understand what examples or experiences can guide Bangladesh to have
an ICT enabled development process. The best practices can also be
included in the chapter in boxes in collaboration with the writers.

It’s your time to turn back! The organizers are listening to take all
these to the policy makers.

# How?
---------

The draft strategy document is available at:
http://www.bdnews24.com/details.php?id=166485&cid=2&aoth=1

You are most welcome to read that. But we understand not many people
have time to read the entire document. So for your ease, we will take
up some key topics from the document and will formulate the questions
to generate a conversation around that topic.

We will run each question for one week before a summary is prepared
and distributed. There could be one or more questions related to one
topic. Authors to this draft strategy document will also be with us to
respond to any request for clarification and to join the discussion.
For each question, we will also provide relevant part of that document
as a background material.

Key topics that are likely to be discussed include: Education, Health,
Agriculture, Access to Justice, Disaster-Environment and Climate
Change, Social Safety Nets, Land, Equitable Citizen Access, Public
Private Partnership, Policy and legal framework etc.

# Where?
-------------

Please participate the global online consultation at:
http://www.yahoogroups.com/group/bytesforall_readers/

To send your thoughts, please send an email:
bytesforall_readers@yahoogroups.com

To subscribe please send an email to:
bytesforall_readers-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

Please continue to have the same title while following or posting to
any message.

You can agree or disagree to the questions and be critical, objective
and informative (with examples) in responding to these. We welcome
your views. But as per moderation rule, any personal attack or
irrelevant discussion is less likely to be approved.

# When?
----------

The first discussion would start on the 6th of July, 2010 and will run
until 12th of July, 2010 before a summary is prepared and a new
question is raised. We plan to run this discussion for a while.
Following is the schedule that we’re likely to follow but we can
reschedule the discussion depending on the interest on a particular
topic.

1. July 6-12th: Agriculture
2. July 13-19th: Local Government and Civil Service
3. July 20-26th: Land
4. July 27-2nd of August: Education
5. August 3- 9th: Health
6. August 10-16th: Social Safety Net, Disaster-Environment and Climate Change
7. August 17-23rd: Access to Justice
8. August 24th-30th: Commerce & Investment, Banking & Financing and PPP
9. August 31st - Sept 6th-: ICT Industry, Policy & Legal Framework
10. September 7th - Sept 13th: Connectivity

Please keep yourself on-board to join the conversation.

Please spread the words around and participate with your views, case
studies and observation on what works and what does not work. We are
listening!
