I'm still on the hunt for Jeroen Kimmel (I'm going to see whether it's the same
guy at jeroenkimmel.nl; it's a pity my knowledge of Dutch is nonexistent), but
I've been tipped off as to where David Dunn is.

I thought I'd post this before getting a dozen emails on the subject.

Well, I WAS going to ask whether this one also features dudes filming other
dudes in the toilet, but decided to check it out on Youtube instead.

Of course, the title of "How to make a Purple Helmet" implied a positive
response to the question above.. *8-) "I had stumbled into the restroom of my

Hello, again. This is Gabriel Noel, the filmmaker from Canada with another film,
this one utilizing Martin Galway's gameplay music from 'Comic Bakery'.In my
travels, I'd stumbled upon an obscure recipe for a really good bar drink that is
served by the pitcher. I'd made an animated film of it, as this drink deserves
to be popularized, and that very music is a perfect fit, as you will see (via
the provided link): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOspPTN92lw Regarding my use
of Galway's 'Mikie' music for my obscure video review of 'Guitar God', I will be
using it for subsequent entries, as I hope to make my reviews of awful Quasmi
games a series (I will be filming some new episodes in July).
My future output will be greater, as I recently quit my day job of seven years
to concentrate on my filmmaking, and am presently fully immersed in the craft
(I'd even bought a website to showcase my work; it's in the link below). I've a
documentary short I'm working on that I will be shopping before September that I
am hoping will cast attention on the rest of my work, much of which is a
showcase for great c64 music.

All: Gabriel Noel, the c64 filmmaker, here.

After over 300 hours of work spanning nine months, my latest video is done, and
utilizes not only Martin Galway's title track from 'Mikie', but incorporates the
music and audio effects from the Stickybear Educational Software series, which
made its debut on the c64. Given the nature of what it complements (i.e. a
demonstration of the 1983 equivalent of 'Guitar Hero'), I imagine it will
generate a tremendous amount of interest. Anyway, here is the link:

Heh, heh. I'd never thought of that angle; I suppose I should address it.

As the 'About Me' portion of my YouTube points out, I work for an inventory
company, assessing products for third-party businesses. My work takes me
throughout Canada, as our clients are everywhere, and I say I'd spend a good
third of the year in a hotel room (the more observant will notice, as much as I
tried to conceal it, the 'Rubber Band' and 'Gum' videos also take place in a
hotel).

We travel in teams, and several of my coworkers are fans of my work, and willing
contributors to the cause. We happened to be in Amos, Quebec (6 hours north of
Montreal), the two were roommates, I was across the hall, and it all worked out.

Mat (the fellow in the overcoat) is actually the brother of a thespian who's
have several bit parts on French television, and Ryan (the emo poster boy) is a
potential apprentice (he is still in high school, and I am trying to persuade
his COOP education teacher to have him function as my gofer, so I can triple my
creative output.

As to whoever has the 'large member', I'm going to assume you're referring to
Mat, to which I say, I've never been in a position to verify that, but that all
the audio was done in post-production.

That should cover it all,
gn

First, I thank Martin Galway and Shaun Southern for their assistance in helping
me find the composers from my previous e-mail (some of whom I've been in touch
with; Shaun Southern among them, obviously).

Re: Simon Pick, although I obtained his permission to use the music from 'Dare
Devil Denis', it's comprised of arrangements of classical (i.e. public domain)
music.

Here's the thing: neither he or myself are able to identify the selection I wish
to use (as he'd transcribed it in 1984, which, for both of us, is a lifetime
ago).

He says it's a popular classical piece, and that I should try to contact
classical music forums to obtain my answer.

I thought I'd make it fun and turn it into a contest, of sorts, and besides
those forums, open the contest to yourselves.

I've extracted the song from the game, and posted it online for public
consumption. The link is below:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1iu6Tnu8OA

The first person to e-mail the address in the video and provide the song title
and composer gets a 'Special Thanks' credit in the video I end up featuring it

NOTE: SIMON PICK AND MARIE SPILMAN DON'T COUNT! (they only transcribed the
piece)

I look forward to seeing how this turns out.

I thank you,

Hello, again. I have several more films in the works (two of which I've
completed principal photography on), some of which will be featured on YouTube
before the year's end.

I've had the privilege of corresponding with four of c64's best composers (one
of whom I'd been searching out for four years), who have been gracious enough to
grant me permission to use their material, but I have once again hit a dead end
with a few others, whom I fail to find. c64rmx being successful in helping me
with my previous search, I thought I'd pose a query, again, and query whether
anyone has contact info for the following people:

1, 2. either Paul Atkinson or Dave Edwards (responsible for the music for
Mastertronic's 'Super Trolley'; I know Mr. Atkinson's most recent credit is for
Warthog's "Battelstar Galactica", but Warthog was acquired by Tiger Telematics,
a.k.a. Gizmondo, which went bankrupt in February of this year, so just as I was
on the verge of finding him, I was sent back, by circumstance, to the proverbial
'square one').

3. Shaun Southern (responsible for Mastertronic's 'Kikstart' games; I came
across one hotmail address bearing his name, but he hasn't responded to it).

4. Marie Spilman (arranged the music for Simon Pick's games 'Dare Devil Denis'
and 'Mad Nurse'; even getting a hold of Simon Pick would suffice.

In exchange for your providing this information, you would receive mention in
the credits and/or a website plug (likely under the 'thanks' column), and, were
the film not to be immediately featured on YouTube (on account of shopping,
exhibition, etc.), you would receive a personal DVD copy of the completed
project.

Also, would anyone know if the name of the composer for DataEast's 'Kung Fu
Master' is lost to history? (I contacted Gary Kitchen in 2003, who was
responsible for the Atari version of the game, and he says it wasn't him).

I look forward to reading whatever may come my way.

Thanks in advance,

Mr. Samuelsson addressed the vid via c64rmx; I should've replied via the same
medium.

Ergo what's below.

hours over 3 weeks.

incorporate the appropriate music from that medium whenever possible, but I'm
also a fan of a cappella music, so one of the vids I feature

It is... Well, ...strange? And really clever.

Makes me want to create videos. But then again, I've wanted to do that forever;
I don't seem have what it takes to finish them. Or even start them, in most
cases.

All:

The vid was screened at Cinefest earlier today, and despite that the
presentation had a half-second audio delay (not my doing), it was extremely
well-received.

It didn't win any of the top three prizes, but it was a privileged to be one of
the twelve.

From here comes shopping my work, and persisting at doing what I love to do.

Once more, the vid featuring Paul Norman's music is featured here:

All:

I'd just posted a video I'd made incorporating musical selections from Paul
Norman's 'Forbidden Forest'.

It was made a few weeks sooner than the video with the Martin Galway music, but
it has been in competition at the CTV Videomakers' Competition at Sudbury
Cinefest 2006 (Canada's 4th largest film festival).

It is presently one of twelve finalists to be screened later this morning, and,
seeing as such, I thought there no harm posting the video now. Here is the link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40__ZifnGyc

Results of the screening (the awards will be given immediately following it)
will be posted both at c64rmx and on the text accompanying the video, itself.

I thank all who assisted me, particularly Paul Norman, who graciously consented
to let me use his music.

All:

I'd just finished and posted a video I'd made incorporating Martin Galway's
'Kong Strikes Back' music.

It's on YouTube at the following link:

Hopefully, this gains attention for the c64 as an overlooked music source.

I thank all who assisted me,
