It has been a long haul, but our strawbale house is finally taking shape. We will be holding a workshop (by Jim Plaster) for learning the techniques of making and applying clay plaster, while helping us to get the clay on the walls.  Come play in the mud, enjoy the company of others, and get dirty.  Please RSVP.

2-Day Earthern Plaster Workshop

March 8th & 9th

8AM to 5PM

In Ramona, CA (SD County)

 

Volunteers will join your hosts Bonnie and Rick Morgal, several CASBA members, and Jim Plaster in the first of three 2-day workshops.  The 2nd and 3rd workshops will be tentatively be scheduled for March 22nd/23rd and 29nd/30th.  If rain occurs on any of the weekends, workshop will delayed to the next scheduled weekend workshop date.  We will be plastering a lovely contemporary home replacing the Morgal's home lost in the Cedar Fire of 03.

What to Bring:  Sun screen, comfortable boots and clothing.  You will get muddy.

Come join the fun with Jim Plaster and learn "hands-on" clay adobe plaster on a straw bale building!

Directions: From San Diego, Highway 67 to Ramona. Turn Right onto Mussey Grade Road (Dos Picos Park turn).  Go 3.8 miles to 13915 Mussey Grade on Left (just past Ronan Street).  There is limited parking at house or along Mussey Grade Road (don't park in front of mailboxes or you may get towed).  Extra parking is available at Kitty and Ira Walter Cafe dirt parking area, 100 yards back to the north on Mussey Grade Road.
