Avantgo has released an update to it's software,
which works. (The first release never did work again
for me, other than the very first day I installed it.
After that, it never updated again!)

I also
really, really adore the space.com channel! Check it
out!

Also, what's the url for that musicmatch box
software?

Cheers,
Mush

Avantgo works great for me and my E100. I've got 15 channels that I subscribe to
and it updates fine every day. Lots of stuff to choose from. I didn't have any
problems installing it either.

Thx for the info... I absolutely love it, and won't look back to my previous
Palm Vx. no comparison. I'm looking to trade the e-100 to the e-115 thought
for more memory etc.

Sharon

Hi- I love my Cassio- especially being able to go
running listening to music, and stopping to jot down
notes!

I would definitely download MusicMatch jukebox
(free version) to record your songs, and convert to
.wma format before transfering to your storage card
(cuts file size down by a third). I would buy a 64 meg
flash card (type 1) for your music. They are much less
expensive on buy.com than through Cassio (like $80!) You
can download the Microsoft Windows CE media player
for free from Microsoft too.
The biggest problem
is the transfer time over the serial cable - it
takes forever to transfer data from your pc to your
cassio. I haven't had much luck getting a good,
economical answer to this.
I like this site too for
info...
http://www.pocketnow.com/e-100/

Have fun! LB

320MB! Wow! Is there a juiced up battery that works better with it than my
standard that I got with the E-100? Thanks for your advise.

You might want to look into the IBM Microdrive.
It comes in capacities up to 320MB in CF type II
format (which will fit in the E-1xx
series).

These are basically teeny hard drives and are priced
pretty decently when compared to cf memory.

Some
drawbacks:
1) they are more fragile than cf memory, don't
drop it
2) since there are moving parts it will
drain your battery faster than with cf memory
3)
casio doesn't recommend that you use it because of the
power it draws, but everyone I'va talked to that has
one loves it and says it works fine
4) it's a
type II cf card, not a type I, meaning if you decide
to get an HP Jornada or some other Pocket PC down
the line sometime, you may be out of luck (the
Jornada 540 series only has a type I slot)
5) it's
not quite as fast as cf memory

But, those
haven't been reason enough to stop the people I've talked
to from spending the bones to get one. After all,
170MB or 320MB for the same price as a 64MB or 128MB cf
card?! Wow!

Hi,

After finding that my 16MB flashcard
holds an abominably small amount of songs I would like
to order a 64MB card. Any recommendations of a card
sure to fit the Cassiopeia? They mention in
descriptions that they come in many sizes.

There is a new version of the Mobile Audio Player
at http://cypher417.tripod.com/index.html It is a
full install and can read WMA codec version 2. I use
Winamp with the WMA output to convert MP3 files to WMA
at 96kbps. They sound as good as MP3 at 128kbps. I
can fit almost and hour on a 40Mb card.

I have the Mobile Audio Player software with the
MP3->WMA converter. The problem is that I have to use a
system with Windows 98 or lower to use it. Windows 98
Second Edition does not work because it uses WMA codec
version 2. The Mobile Audio Player can only read WMA
codec version 1 and I can't find an upgrade anywhere. I
hate to buy MP3 player software after paying for this
MM package that should have been originally
installed on the E100 and the MP3 software doesn't work as
well as the WMA player. Where is the Mobile Audio
Player WMA version 2 codec?

Hello,
Have had my E-100 for about 4 or 5
months, time flies when on CE. So far been pretty happy
with it and Ce 2.11.
Got the list of sites that
someone else posted so now I don't feel alone in the CE
world.
My original decision to buy this PDA was because of
3COM lack of decision on the their Palm
line.

Cheers,
Rob

I've had an order for an E-105 since june with buy.com, under $500, Casio keeps
slipping the shipments every month. I just keep saying to myself "it will be
worth the wait".

I've had my Cassiopeia E-105 on order now from
shopping.com for more than a month. Yesterday they told me
that the backorder date had just been moved to January
22nd! When I checked with the other online stores, they
were all backordered and out of stock. The real world
stores never have carried the E-105, so what's up? Does
anyone know what's going on at Casio?

I have brought the bsquare spreadsheet program.
It seems to be a good spreadsheet program. I work
for a hospital and handle a lot of information daily.
The cassiopeia E-100 is great for this. Any tricks or
advise is welcome.
