Thanks for your reply guys,

1. The OS that we are using is the Ubuntu shell 9.04 - Edubuntu upgrade

2. Yes the users could login to any unit, so that if any problems would occur, they could just be transferred to another computer. Will be adding a server later on, still focusing on the workstations. The harddisk will be cloned so i guess that won't be much of a problem as long as we have a working model.

If you have a central server ,why not just try LTSP ,this could be
easier to manage.
