Dear chairperson for the Cordilleran Meeting:

As you may have noticed in the GSA and Mexican webpages the deadline for abstract submission has been posponed to January 1st, 2003. We negotiated this extension with GSA in order to get the maximum participation at the meeting.
Abstracts are already coming at the GSA website and the person in charge says we have a good number so far. However we have only a fraction (10%) of the abstract we would like to have on January 1st. I encourage you to send mail/talk to the potential attenders informing about the new deadline.

The new deadline also means that we will have to complete the program in the few days immediately after January 1st. As I mention in a previous message you will be allowed to review, accept and schedule the talks and poster submitted for your session/symposia. This is done through the GSA website. I ask you to check your email frequently at the beginning of January to receive the relevant information and be prepared to spend some hours online to arrange you session.

Thank you again for your help in the organization of the meeting. Receive my best wishes for a merry Christmas and a happy the new year.

Luca Ferrari
Technical Program Chair
