Well folks, the .CUSeeMe Top-Level Domain (TLD) is alive in the Cesidian Root, and it even has a first working domain:
We are proud to help Marc Manthey and his paesani with the .cuseeme TLD. The .cuseeme TLD is the TLD of the CU-SeeMe User Community now.
CU-SeeMe is an internet video-conferencing client that was written by Tim Dorcey of the Information Technology department at Cornell University. It was first developed for the Macintosh in 1992, and later for the Windows platform in 1994.
The commercial licensing rights were bought by White Pine Software, which was later bought by First Virtual Communications. It went bankrupt, and its assets were acquired by RADvision on 15 March 2005. RADvision continues to offer the commercial version of the product through clicktomeet.com.
There is still a small but active community of users who continues to use CU-SeeMe, and one of those persons is Marc Manthey. These people maintain the CU-SeeMe freeware available for both Windows and Macintosh platforms on the Internet. Many CU-SeeMe "reflectors" that are still operational, and the Cesidian Root hopes to stimulate further developments of this technology through this special free TLD.
