Description

The Chatham Mushroom Friends (CMF) consists of folks in Central North Carolina whose common interest is fungi. Members may collect fungi in the wild, cultivate fungi in their gardens, or just enjoy cooking and eating mushrooms.
This Yahoo group has been set up to exchange ideas and coordinate impromptu forays and trips,as well as to aide in mushroom identification. We currently do not restrict membership to this yahoo group in order to allow for interested parties such as mycologists, growers, collectors and hobbiests to participate.
Please do NOT claim to make positive identification of mushrooms whose photos are posted to this group. Merely offer helpful suggestions, guidelines, advice etc. No one should ever eat any mushroom based on information or advice posted here. Not all edible mushrooms are tolerated by everyone and not all experts agree to the edibility of certain mushrooms.
All postings must be mushroom related and courteous. No one has any obligation to answer questions as this group is all volunteer. Folks get busy and sometimes posts do not get answered. It is OK to post brief information about mushroom related products for sale and events of interest to members.
Please - no personal, business, political or religious related postings or signatures. Abuse of these policies may cause you to be removed from the group. Thanks
