Re: [chief-users] Re: Scale not correct - read between the

I think some printers, and pdf writers, compound margin settings (margin within
margin) but not sure about that. Try this to see if it helps:

Make sure you sheet borders, if any, are within the minimum margin settings for
you printer. This includes any text or CAD objects. Then turn off the margins or
set them to "0", set to print at 100% and see if that corrects the problem.

(adapting) I seem to be able to do a basic set of plans & layout pages
except for a reoccurring glitch. It seems when I print my layout page
the scale which is set at 1 : 100 is not exactly that. Is this a
common problem with 10.08 <

**Don't know about 8 to 10, but I made up my own layout sheet and to
fill out the 'D' sheet I had to print all at 96%. At 100% the scale of
items was OK, but the sheet was to big for the D sheet, and at 96% the
scale was off but the whole sheet printed. To get correct scale and
still fit on the page, I had to redo my layout sheet 0, i.e. keep
shrinking my borders until it would print out at 100%. Then all is/was
OK for my HP 2500CP printer.**

> I also keep having archive plans coming up which can be difficult to
manage and trying to remember which was the last plan I worked on is
time wasting. <

**Dan Baumann/Chief Experts suggests that one could/should only have
one plan. And manage all by using 'layers' to control what and where.
This would help to "remember which was the last plan I worked on" if I
under stand your post correctly.**

> So far 10.08 does'nt feel as easy to use as 8.0 <

**HMMM, well upgrade to Xi. And then check back w/ your progress.**

> By the way I'm using metric (so much easier) <

**What ever works for one, and all involved w/ the output, is OK with
me. Now be it metric, Imperial, a stick w/ ones custom markings, a
piece of string, etc, it works as long it is used in that context and
in that community. If metric is the norm for where ever, then so be it.

Hey its kinda like a language, when in doubt, use pig latin.**

Evan, I wasn't sure if line weights were causing him grief, or the scale of the drawing itself. (I think Wayne is using version 10.08?). If it's the scale of...
