The Chinese Internet Research Group is designed to spur cooperative and collaborative research on the internet in China, including issues of internet and telecommunications regulation, the social, cultural, and political impact of the internet, the development of the internet in China, etc. We will use this list to disseminate news, stimulate research ideas and discussion, and hopefully make each of us more productive in our own area of research on China's internet. The moderators of this list are Randolph Kluver, Texas A&M University, and Jack Linchuan Qiu, Chinese University of Hong Kong.
To join this group, send a message to the moderator (chineseinternetresearch-owner@yahoogroups.com) detailing your interest and the group. PLEASE NOTE: JUST CLICKING ON "JOIN THIS GROUP" ON THIS WEB PAGE WILL NOT GET YOU ADDED. YOU MUST SEND A MESSAGE TO THE OWNER. (This is only to make sure that no robots get added to the list). Any news item or research item about the Internet in China is welcome, but inappropriate spamming will get you removed from the group.
