It has been brought to my attention that there exists the Mobile World
Congress [1] at which the 2009 Mobile Innovation Global Award [2] was
won by Cootek [3] for a soft keyboard (meaning it's on the touch-
sensitive display screen). Their scheme uses the motion (gesture)
sensing capability of the screen. So you're still typing on your cell
phone with your thumbs but now the keys can be fewer and bigger, each
with multiple characters. You select which character you want with
motions. Of course it has autocompletion --- it tries to guess what
word you want.
Now I certainly congratulate CooTek and wish them every success but
jeez. I want a whole lot more than thumbing in my mobile equipment.
