It's been waiting in the box for me for years. My C128 and it's
companion 12" monitor. I spent many a happy hours writing programs on
that thing, and analyzing other people's programs. These days a 12"
screen is way to small to look at for any length of time. And the
keyboard is impossible, I keep hittin the shift lock key and wonder
why my letters look so weird on the screen. Some things have come back
to me but most have not so to relearn them will take a lot of diggin
in the manuals. The first thing I had to learn was how to get out of
the assembly language monitor because I kept trying to figure out what
the F-Keys did and of course F8 gets you into the monitor. As I worked
I began to recall all the frustrating features of that machine, at
least compared to a PC. NO clear screen key. You know one that doesn't
just put the SCNCLR on the screen. What good is that if the screen is
filled with stuff. You hit the key and then have to clear the screen
of clutter on that line in order to clear the screen.
I will remember fondly my years using that little thing and I will
keep on checking it out, but I can't imagine doing much with it in
spite of the very good bascic 7. Oh, and the monitor, I mean the
video monitor, is a bit sick, so that's another reason not to spend
much eye blurring time on it. :-)
