Try checking out Jag's World for information on OS versions?

Unfortrunately, OS's have become difficult to get lately as (or so I
am told) Apple's legal arm has been reminding webmasters that this
software is still protected by copyright with the result that most
webmasters have closed the pages in question for the time being.

Best way to get that kind of stuff is to ask friends or talk to people
who have older macs.

I recently found this classic machine at an estate sale. It boots to
the "no disk" icon, so I'm hopeful that it will work well.

I'm in need of a mouse and system & application disks.

I know I can find mice on eBay, but I was wondering if anyone here can
clue me in as to what the last name and version number of the
appropriate OS was, and where I might be able to find disks or disk
images.

Thanks in advance for any help.

This campaign is about Human beings, Democracy, UNHCR, Refugees, The Iraqis,
Islam, Kurds, Human rights, Respect, Money, Donations, Angelina Jolie,
Pavarotti, Giorgio Armani, Donors, Peace, History, Campaigns and about you if
you care about these words.

Hi there,

I am SAM, an Iraqi refugee living in Lebanon at the moment; I have spent the
last 10 years of my life as a refugee registered with the UNHCR in Beirut. The
last 4 years, I have spent as an activist for peace and human rights (especially
refugees and asylum seekers) on the Internet; I'm also books author and ebooks
publisher. I have launched many campaigns to improve our situation as refugees
in Lebanon and hopefully bring more understanding to our problems worldwide. I
helped make many changes and improvements at the UNHCR office in Beirut; I used
the Internet as the field for my activities (you can read more about that in my
free ebook 'MY CAMPAIGNS'). All my ebooks are free and could be download from my
sites.

This is my newest campaign, it's about the illegal and humiliating actions of
the UNHCR, who using photos of refugees as banners and human-buttons to collect
money. This is an abuse of the dignity and humanity of the refugees and must
stop immediately and a clear public apology present by The United Nations High
Commissioner for Refugees. My friends, I am talking about the pictures you can
see here: http://un4.pochta.ru

Also you can read my new campaign 'Urgent, we need smile' here:
http://lebanon.kogaryu.com/smile.html

For more info about UNHCR and life of refugees you can read my free ebooks. I
invite you as fellow humans and members of the world community to support my
campaign by reading my article on my site and see the human-buttons. The
campaign is to support and improve the UNHCR http://www.unhcr.ch especially
after the last scandals in the UN and UNHCR, just for example:
http://www.mizzima.com/archives/news-in-2005/news-in-april/12-April05-22.htm

"We make demonstration and fast because the UNHCR office in Cairo did nothing
for our problem..." http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/4440730.stm

Together we will build better world.

You could reach me fast via this form:

(here is the place they used: http://xqpc.lookuplove.info/qxob , but what do ya
think? I think it is mad cool from what I saw at my buddy’s house, and iam
thinking of signing up later today. Basically it's a regular personalssite, but
with an instant message and Webcams system built in. Basically you join their
chat-room on their site it gives you a link to those people online in the
chat-room, their location, their picture, etc and at one click you can start
chatting to them over Webcam (even if you don't have one). Pretty nifty stuff I
think!

Hi folks,

I'm new here. Thanks for listening. I have a few macs and I have recently
acquired a
couple of ZIP drives, about which I know almost nothing, I'm afraid. I'm
interested in
seeing if I can get the ZIP going on any/all of my older macs, to transfer
files. Please
excuse my ignorance here, any help appreciated!

Here's what I've got: Performa 6200CD (is that considered a classic these
days?), a
Quadra 900, and an old (great!) SE30.

ZIPS-- they're both different. Honestly, I don't know if they're Mac/PC, or if
it matters.
I'm afraid the best I can do is describe them. The front of each looks the same:
"Iomega zip 100" but the backs are different. They each have two ports on back,
and
all 4 ports are of the flat 25 pin variety. However, one has a _male_ port,
labelled "Zip"
and a _female_ one with an icon of a printer, and the other has two female
ports, one
labelled "Zip" and the other with the diamond-looking SCSI icon. The one with
the
SCSI icon also has switches to control termination and SCSI ID #.

The embarassing thing is, I can't remember how these are hooked up... I think I
remember them being SCSI devices, presumably going from the mac's SCSI port to
the
SCSI port on my second Zip drive. However, I tried that, and every time I plug
the
cable into the mac, the mac totally dies. I've tried a few troubleshooting
things, and
no good-- starting up with the thing already plugged in doesn't work (it doesn't
start
up) and for what it's worth, it works fine with the cable attached to only the
mac-- but
as soon as I plug that other end to the zip, it dies again. I seem to remember
that one
had to download a driver, from Iomega, to get these to work, but I even though I
don't
currently have it, I was surprised that it was totally dying.

I'll have to search through my old cables, but at present I've only been able to
find a
male-to-female SCSI cable, so I've only been able to hook up the one with the
male
"Zip" port. I can't remember for sure, but I think that the person who gave this
one to
me said it was for PC. Anyway, rather than troubleshooting till the cows come
home, I
thought I would toss all this info your way, and see if there's anyone who can
help me.

Thanks!

JD
