Description
This group was started as a result of discussions on the Cloudy Nights Classic Telescope Forum. It has been started by the participating members of that forum in order to post and present, for public use files and links of interest to astronomers wishing to preserve and or restore classic telescopes. All links, Photos, Files, are welcome and greatly appreciated! Please be aware that there will be a need for organization all this information to make them more useful and accessible as we grow. Your help and advice is needed and will be implemented. Also I feel the need to say that I am not information Nazi, if you feel the need to post it we will not delete or impede your right to share it as long as it is tasteful and not rude Thank you (Caveman) Clint.

Steve Millers 1954 6" F10 GOTO Refractor and the Southern Calif. Cloudy Night Classic Telescope Group. From Left to right, Dan Scheckter, Steve Miller, Lewis Chilton, Robert Provin, Clint Whitman. The Scope was owned by John Pons He asked me to help him sell it so for 4 months I looked for a buyer. Steve Miller steped up and purchased the scope. He has since put countless hours of plating and restoration work to bring the scope back to its former glory. On the weekend of August 1st 2008 Steve Miller, Robert Provin and I took the entire 1200lb telescope to mount Pinos CA for the entire weekend It was incredible to see it there. I would estimate the scope had 1000 pictures taken by the local astronimers and it was a histroic event.
Please E-mail any cool original photos and story of your old scope to clint@clintsongdotcom. We will be rotating this logo from time to time as they come in.
