Hi,
 
I'm still working on the optics at this point.  Need to make a baffle tube since the original was missing.  Not sure on the star images yet since I've had very few clear skies to push the optics and review the diffraction rings.  The photographic guide is a 3.1 inch Unitron that I used to balance the scope.  For some reason, the scope came with two weights that put too much weight on the counterweight side of the scope.  Who knows what the original owner had on it to require this extra weight.  Anyway, I was able to fix this issue by making one of the weights into two parts.
 
The scope is from 1972.
