Meeting Place: We will meet at 1:00pm in front of the monk statue at
Kintetsu Nara Railway Station and be transported by Sharp's bus to its Tenri
factory. At the end of the presentation, we will be transported back to
arrive at Kintetsu Nara station by 4:30pm.

Sharp Corporation, which initiated the current LCD industry is in the
process of changing the direction of the LCD industry with the introduction
of System LCDs.

System LCD technology has started to find various applications in the market
place. For instance, besides having an integrated control circuit, the panel
can now integrate a CPU, which will lead to a personal computer much thinner
than the existing ones.

Akihiko Imaya, General Manager of Sharp's System LCD Division, will discuss
low-temperature poly-silicon technology for use in system liquid-crystal
displays. He will also discuss current applications and exciting, future
technology developments. After Mr. Imaya's talk, we will tour Sharp's LCD
museum and manufacturing facilities.

Due to the sensitivity of the discussion, competitors are asked to refrain
from signing up for this event.
