Hello All,
Hope all is going well and that you have been enjoying the cherry
blossoms.
I know I said in February that I wanted to try and have people gather
without reminder, but after discussing things with a few people, it
seems our get togethers would end.
So, let's get together Friday April 9th, at 6:30 (please RSVP so I can
let Tadg know how many people there will be).
Also, I would like to announce a change in venue. As everyone knows,
the former chef over at The Hill of Tara has opened his own pub. It is
called Tadg's Irish Pub. It is very easy to find, and in a beautiful
location.

For people who know Kyoto:
1. Go to Shijyo-Ohashi on the North East corner of the bridge running
over the Kamo-River (the Gion side).
2. Cross the street to the East.
3. Go north (left or upriver) turn right at the first corner (just past
the parking facility).
4. The pub is on the second floor of the building where the road turns
back to the South.
5. There is an Irish flag in the window, so it should be easy to find.
(Take the elevator to the second floor. Turn left out of the elevator.)
For those coming from outside Kyoto: It is easiest to take either
Hankyu or Kintetsu. (JR is difficult)
Hankyu:
1. Take the Hankyu to Shijyo-Kawaramachi.
2. Leave out of Exit 1.
3. Go East (left) along Shijyo. You will pass over the "Kamo River".
4. Once you have passed over the river go across the street.
5. Go north (left or upriver) turn right at the first corner (just past
the parking facility).
6. The pub is on the second floor of the building where the road turns
back to the South.
7. There is an Irish flag in the window, so it should be easy to find.
(Take the elevator to the second floor. Turn left out of the elevator.)
Kintetsu:
1. Take the Kintetsu to Shijyo-Oohashi.
2. Leave out of Exit 8.
3. Turn right (up river/North).
4. Go to the first (just past the parking facility) and turn right.
5. The pub is on the second floor of the building where the road turns
back to the South.
6. There is an Irish flag in the window, so it should be easy to find.
(Take the elevator to the second floor. Turn left out of the elevator.)
JR:
1. Go to Kyoto Station.
2. Take a Taxi to Shijyo-Oohashi. (960-1500 yen---Not sure I haven't
done it myself.)
3. North East corner of the bridge running over the Kamo-River (the Gion
side).
4. Cross the street to the East.
The food is great. All we have to do is add the conversation.
Hope to see you all there.
(I have BCC'd everyone this time.)
Best regards,
Jeff
