Do you miss the festivities of the Banks of Mukogawa? How about
Nakanoshima Festival?
Where is the Spring "gathering" event?

Many groups in the Kansai are coming together for friends, family,
and children to enjoy the cherry blossom season.
A "first annual picnic event" in Osaka Castle Park. Should be an
enjoyable afternoon!


Pertaining to the April 13 event. Could you tell me a little bit more?

first time! But I'm hoping it becomes a yearly group-networking
event every April.

DAJK, officially (but its basically a one-man show!) Among the
groups joining so far are DAJK, Amnesty Int'l 95, Int'l Outdoor Club,
In'l Gourmet Club, St. David's Society, St. George's Society, AFWJ,
and many others are currently under consideration.

>3) Since it is a big group, will permits be needed?
not sure how big the group will get, but permits?...... we don't need
" " permits! (or do we?) Since this is not a Nakanoshima type
event, without booths & bands, just a group of friends having a
picnic, I think it will be OK.

>4) Late arrivals need to go where?
follow the chalk signs, and look for the noisy gaijins!

>5) Event cancelled if it rains?
No, since this is a BYO picnic event, its up to each individual to
decide whether to come & what to bring.

>6) web page available?
No (but I like the wishful thinking!!)

>7) BBQ ?
No, technically it's being promoted as a Picnic, since I think fires
aren't allowed in Osaka-jo. But they also tend to look the other way
during hanami season. anyway, I won't be providing anything to cook
with. stores are near Morinomiya station, and if someone fires up a
hibachi, that's their business!

>8) Drinks?
Yes, definitely! again, this is BYO, so nothing will be prepared and
there will be no food/drink booths other than the Japanese yatai that
may already be there selling in the park.

>9) Children?
Yes! also Dogs, frisbees, musical instruments.......and single women!!

>10) Meeting time and place?
Morinomiya Station, Exit 3-B. See maps below 13:00PM
