Hi Clickers,
We have this wonderful group of IT brains here in Kansai and I think we
have a lot of potential, if we organize ourselves well. This mailing
list is not very active at the moment, so there is room for improvement.
We are in a unique position. Most of us are bilingual and have an
international background. We can provide services that many Japanese
would not be able to provide and there is a high demand for our
services.
Recession
Everybody is talking about it. Recession, Repression, we hear it so
often it almost makes us depressed. IT provides wonderful opportunity,
since we can make things work more efficiently through automation and
through information processing.
Who knows Klick!
But who knows Klick? Who can find us when they need us?
Organize
I think we should put together a portal with the following
functionality.
* Click! Members register and post their resumes and experience
* Web links to Click! Member websites and Blogs
* Opinion Polls
* Forum to discuss IT issues.
* Calendar to post IT events and Click Meetings
* News section where members can post Interesting developments
* Outsiders can post IT requests and job requests.
Test Site
I have put up a mockup
http://salsakitchen-kobe.com/click/
<http://salsakitchen-kobe.com/click/>
It is a Joomla portal, we could host it under click-IT-kansai.com. With
a bit of activity from our side, we could climb up in the search engines
which will benefit our community and our members.
I invite all members to have a look and click on the poll at the site.
You can sign up and put your profile.
If there is some interest and if I have permission from David, I can put
the site live.
Looking forward to your response.
Best Regards,
Marco
