I agree. Hansen wrote of the 'genetics' of the bill:
"Alas, we won't get there with the Waxman-Markey bill, a monstrous absurdity
hatched in Washington after energetic insemination by special interests.
For all its "green" aura, Waxman-Markey locks in fossil fuel business-as-usual
and garlands it with a Ponzi-like "cap-and-trade" scheme...."
It would make more sense to wait for the Sun to have a few more spots, renewed
AGW, rather than give away most of the carbon allowances for free. Of course,
we wouldn't need a climate bill to put unemployed folks to work insulating old
houses like I did in 1977.
