The abstract submission deadline is extended to 1 March More than 1050 participants from 35 countries from all around the world have registered up to now, in whom more than 900 participants are active participants! Because of this high interest, we have extended the abstract and workshop submission deadline as well as applying as a reviewer of the conference to 1 March. The submission deadline for Meetings, Satellite Programs and Research Entities Assembly is 21 March. Publication of abstracts All of the accepted abstracts in SICOBAIR 2009 will be published in Journal of Iran University of Medical Sciences (JIUMS) as a supplement. JIUMS is indexed in IndexCopernicus and CINAHL Databases. Special Invited Speakers Dr. Ramin Shahidi is director of California Institute of Computer-Assisted Surgery, winner of Medical Design Excellence Award in 2002 and many notable awards and grants, inventor of more than 15 patents, and holder of many outstanding academic and industrial positions. His graduate & fellowship program affiliations are Biomechanical Engineering, Biomedical Informatics, Radiation Oncology, Radiology, Surgery, and Bioengineering. He is Assistant Professor in the departments of Neurosurgery, Surgery, and Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. Professor John Hamilton, emeritus professor of medicine, is one of the founders of "problem based learning" in medicine at McMaster University, one of the founders of Population Health Nutrition Division of the World Bank, foundation chairman of the Accreditation Committee of the Australian Medical Council, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Newcastle for 14 years, and holder of prominent positions in WHO. He has been in UK, Zambia, Canada, Nigeria, USA, and Australia. He is one of the giants in the field of medical education. Social Program Tehran is a huge metropolis with lots of natural and cultural attractions. Additionally, Educational Development Center (EDC) of Iran Universiry of Medical Sciences is going to give a special award of total traveling expenses to one active participant. The only thing you have to do is sending us a scanned copy of your Passport first page and a filled form by email. We will follow all of the steps required for your Visa application here in Iran, and we will send you a reference number for you. With this number, you can refer to the nearest Iranian embassy, and get your visa in less than one week! Additionally, you can get an on-entry visa, which will take you some time and money when you arrive in Iran.
