Re: [clivia] Gerrit's Green Throat Yellow (pic.10)

Hello Gerrit,
That is an interesting tale of how you reached this lovely plant.

This may be the most beautiful non-Japanese origin green throat yellow I've seen a photo of....
thanks so much for sharing this beauty with us.

David to your question and that of Peter Miles:

The breeding of this plant starts in the late 70's when I bought three small Clivia plants at a nursery. One of them was a yellow. Later years when salved the yellow, one of the seedlings produced me a small flower with a green throat. I then crossed that with an orange green throat (which was the off spring of a G2 yellow x G1 yellow).
And this was the result.

Regards
Gerrit

Lovely flowers Gerrit,

Can you tell us more about the Green Throated Yellow (G1 or G2?) in your image #10 (2535)?

Regards,

David Banks

PS. Some nice clivias for sale on the Australian eBay site at present, with plants from Harry in WA and myself. Worth a look!...
