Hi, Valerie,
maybe you know these ones already:
Li Wei, Three Generations Two Languages One Family: Language Choice and
Language Shift in a Chinese Community in Britain, Multilingual Matters,
Clevedon, 1994.
Ng S. H. & He A., Code-Switching in Trigenerational Family Conversations among
Chinese Immigrants in New Zealand, Journal of Language and Social Psychology,

Hi,
I'm Valerie and I'm interested in Chinese diaspora communities,
particularly in the West. I'm studying sociolinguistics at the
University of Essex, and curious about the kinds of language shift and
innovation that emerges from post-immigration generations, as well as
how that affects identity and language attitudes.
I'd appreciate any direction and/or sources about these topics! Also,
I'm new at the whole independent study/gather own reading list as an
undergrad, so any tips or kind words would be appreciated too :)
Thnx.
