I have the rip for the color stylus 7880, and I purchased a 9900 in December
2008. There are lots of other rips out there to try, but nothing that has the
organized layout of ImagePrint. So far, still no support for the 9900 from
ColorByte. Anyone else have a 9900 and what are you using to print?

I don't have a 9900 (yet), but I know of someone using ImageNest
(http://www.bluecubit.com/imagenest-large.html) and a ColorBurst RIP
on the Mac. (http://www.colorburstrip.com/compare.html) ColorBurst
has good layout features under Windows, but not Mac. Apparently
ImageNest works great, though. You might check it out. ColorBurst
has far more low-level controls than ImagePrint.

Have a problem. I am getting on a black and white print, horizontal lighter
areas on the right hand side of the print. The lines are about 8 inches from the
start of printing, in a black area, and usually in a couple of bands and run
abut 8 inches into the print area. This is only happening on Epson 44inch
Premium Canvas Satin. Had this problem only in the last few weeks. Have
contacted Epson UK and they have not got back to me, even though I said its
urgent. This in not a nozzle clog or anything like that as the lighter areas are
'soft'. Looks like scuffing. I am using Imageprint and Phatte Black system with
all Epson consumables.
Can anyone suggest a remedy. Normally print on Enhanced Matt Poster Board and
get perfect prints.
Regards Brian.
Hey all! I've been using Imageprint 7 for 8 months now on a relatively new HP
Vista64 system with Trend Micro antivirus. Just about every time I use
Imageprint 7.1.0.3.0, the dongle usb driver is corrupt and I have to reload /
update it as per the instructions in the troubleshooting manual. The symptom,
of course is that the dongle number does not show up in IPSetup.
I've tried leaving the dongle plugged in all the time, as well as plugging it in
only when I need to print.
I have what seems to be the up-to-date vista64 CBUSB Ver 2.0 driver. Although
there seem to be two of them in the directory.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise the program is flawless in its
printing capabilities!
Thanks,
Rick
I have imageprint on a mac printing to a Epson9600. when I print using the
step/repeat feature the printing stops at about 20%
any ideas out there why?
I am using IP 8.0 on an Intel Mqc Pro with 16 Gb RAM, under Snow Leopard. My
Epson 3800 printer is connected via Ethernet cable. Until recently, everything
was working fine, but now when I try to print I get the spoolface message :
"Error: Printer Not Ready (status = 0xf000000)".
The printer is properly connected, the printer's IP is properly set in IP Setup,
I can ping the printer from my Mac using the printer's IP address, and I can
print using the printer driver. The Epson Print utility can also see the
printer. Only IP 8 is having trouble. I have tried deleting the ip.config file
and re-installing the printer, but to no avail.
Please help!
Thanks, Mike.
Mike-
Are you sure the IP address did not change during SL upgrade? If so, I would
advise making the ip address a static one.
You don't mention any socket errors, but I had some troubles like that when I
upgraded (4000 and 4800)... running the SocketFix.dmg in the Image Print folder
solved my problem... don't think that can hurt in any event.
good luck

Thanks Tom. I tried Socketfix, but no luck. Still get the error (but no socket
error). The odd thing is IPprint has worked perfectly on Snow Leopard for the
past weeks, and has suddenly stopped functioning for no apparent reason. IPrint
can be very frustrating sometimes :-(......

At the risk of offering up a standard tech support response, have you tried completely uninstalling IP8 and re-installing it? I was having problems getting IP7 to run with Snow Leopard and this did the trick. You may just have some corruption in there and this could take care of it.
If you do the re-install, you can move and save your ICC profiles to avoid the need to import them again. Good luck!

This problem just started. Up to 4 days ago, I wasn't having the problem. I have
tried rebooting the computer and the printer, removing and reinserting the key
and removing and reinserting the paper into the printer. No matter what I do,
the error "Paper Out" on the printer shows up every time I send something to
print. I also use this same RIP to send jobs to another printer and everything
works great with it, there are no problems. I know it's got to be something
simple, but I can't figure it out and I have jobs I need to print HELP!!!!
sounds like a mismatch in the IP settings and the printer actual...
I would be sure all jobs are cancelled, then go through each setting one by
one... I usually find that I had some little one (like sheet instead of roll or
cut checked) clicked by accident when I've had issues like this.
As far as I know , there is no way to just reset everything to default on both
the printer and software, so you have to go through them all.
good luck

Try using a different roll or sheet of paper. I have had this problem and for
some reason the media was corrupting the system.

I tried this, but it didn't work. To make sure it wasn't the printer, I printed
direct from another software and it printed with no problems, so it must be
ImagePrint. By the way, I was wrong about the software version, it's 5.6 not 7.
I really don't want to delete the printer and reinstall it into ImagePrint
because I don't have the encryption code. Got any other ideas?

I did as you suggested, but I still have the problem. I use this same software to print to another printer and have no problems at all. I also sent a photo from another software to the Epson and it printed fine without any error. So the problem has to be with ImagePrint. I even tried changing the paper definition to something else, but that didn't work. I really don't want to have to delete the printer and then reload it again because I don't have the encryption code. Can you think of anything else, I am getting despirate!!!

ImagePrint has been very kind to me when I've misplaced the encryption code and needed their help. Just give them a call. You may need to prove you are the registered owner/user of the software and I'm sure at some point you will need the dongle.
When I've had the kind of problem you've described, it usually has been my failure to be sure the printer settings (on the front panel of the printer) match the settings in the Epson print driver and the ImagePrint printer settings that are accessed through the icons on the lower right corner of the ImagePrint screen.
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but you may want to turn off the printer for a few minutes and then restart it. I'd unplug it to be sure it gets a hard re-boot.

Wendy-
I think you can just go to the Colorbyte web site and get a new encryption by
entering your registered email address and the dongle number.

I just got a new mac... came with osX 10.6 (software update to 10.6.1). Did the
migration assistant to the new mac via firewire400-800 cable. Everything
transferred. Went into IP setup and I get an error when trying to enable the
printer:
Couldn't connect socket in ip_config
Anyone have a fix?
Image print is one of the few image apps that worked well for me on snow
leopard.
The socket problem is easily fixed. In the image print folder there is an app
called
SOCKETFIX.DMG
run that and you will be fine.
cheers,
tom

All of us have had the same problem. You may find using the socket fix applet works for you. When I contacted Colorbyte, they suggested the following:
1) Move your ICC profiles folder to a safe location on your HD.
2) Download the most current version of IP7 or 8 from the ImagePrint website.
3) Uninstall your current version of IP and dump your trash folder.
4) Reinstall a current version from the IP website.
5) Move your ICC profiles into the new folder with the same name that you created during the reinstallation.
While this may seem like a PITA, it is actually fairly quick and painless--far less of a pain than some of my other challenges upgrading drivers to work with Snow Leopard.
Good luck,
Rich H.

I am printing on a 9800 and running 10 inch wide roll paper through the printer. Need to make 100 8x10 prints. So I figured I would run 10 inch paper roll and turn double cut on. Well IP6.XX advances the paper 3 inches between each print, starts printing, trims leading edge off the 3 inches it advanced and then continues the remaining 8 inches of printing. Cuts to size correctly. But that is 300 inches of wasted paper i just ran. How do I fix that?
You didn't describe the settings you are using. If you are printing borderless, that would explain the waste.

I've spent way more time than I should trying to read the help PDF.
I know it's got to be a simple setting.
I'll double all my cuts if I have to slice 100 4x6's.
Any idea how to have them line up without a space when mass-dragging over?
thanks in advance!
Do it as standard flat print and find printhouse with big cut machine

Snap to grid? What happens if you have
