Hello all,
I noted that the angular elements of NEA 2009 MC9 orbit are similar to those of
lost comet D/1884 O1 (Barnard).
D/1884 O1 (according to Kinoshita; Epoch 2009-11-25):
http://jcometobs.web.fc2.com/pcmt/i84o1.htm
q 1.2709837
e 0.5837969
Peri 338.60435
Node 334.52058
Incl 9.07027
2009 MC9:
q 1.15816
e 0.50366
Peri 350.920
Node 321.958
Incl 9.764
Orbit comparing parameters:
Tisserand's criterion according to Jupiter:
TJ (D/1884 O1) = 2.97
TJ (2009 MC9) = 2.82
Ecliptic longitude of perihelion:
L (D/1884 O1) = 313.4
L (2009 MC9) = 311.0
Ecliptic latitude of perihelion:
D (D/1884 O1) = -3.3
D (2009 MC9) = -2.2
Observed arc of 2009 MC9 is only 2 days.
I tried to link these orbits with no success. However, I have almost no skill in
orbit linking. Maybe some of comets-ml readers could try to link these orbits.
