Jan 01 - tail only visible for ~22 deg, difficult to direct vision
Jan 02 - much easier, but mostly using averted vision now that it
has cleared the edge of the Milky Way for most of its length.
Tail ~36deg to the naked eye, merging into the Milky Way.
A couple of lines of stars were aligned within the end of
the tail making them blend with the tail in averted vision,
I wasn't confident the tail was longer, but did suspect it.
My photos do show the tail going deeper into the Milky Way.

Still can't see any condensation or nucleus to mag 19 in the stacked
images.
The web site has been down several times in the last week due to
electrical storm damage after Christmas. Apparently all in order now.
Cheers, Rob
